Implants & Hybrids
Shikosha offers a wide variety of advanced implant and hybrid solutions that are digitally designed, comprehensive, and customizable. Our implant technicians enjoy working closely with doctors to create reliable, successful results.
The Identica Hybrid Medit Scanner and Exocad Design Software enable our Implant Team to create highly accurate and complex implant restorations, and we have partnered with a range of implant manufacturers to bring you the latest and greatest advanced implant systems.
We have a variety of abutment options, and nearly all of our crown types can be fabricated as an implant crown or bridge.
Hybrids
Many patients aren’t candidates for implant crowns due to health problems or poor bone integrity, so we offer a variety of hybrid solutions for edentulous patients.
Implant-Supported Hybrid
Hybrids, or fixed dentures, replace missing teeth and gum tissue by attaching a prosthetic restoration to dental implants or a custom-milled titanium or zirconia bar. They can be either fixed or attached and removable; fixed and cemented options perform like natural teeth.
Benefits: Small access holes cause minimal damage; less intrusive; more esthetic capability; greater stability; usually doesn’t require a flange.
Overdenture
Overdentures (Implant-Assisted Prostheses) are typically made with two to four implants and are held in place by locator attachments or a bar. Patients require a certain amount of bone and tissue integrity to help support the prosthesis.
Benefits: Removable by the patient; fewer implants means less surgery; lower cost; and usually faster.
All-on-X
A minimally-invasive solution that includes four or more implants and provides the patient with a fixed, full-arch prosthesis on the day of surgery. Tilting the posterior implants avoids the need for bone grafting.
Benefits: Great for full-arch cases; patients receive the prosthesis on the day of surgery; greater stability; often doesn’t require a flange.
Milled Bar
A fixed-removable implant solution that offers a design optimal for implant placement. Four to six implants are fabricated on a milled bar that’s screwed into place, providing a solid design with no movement.
Benefits: Some milled bars have passive attachments that snap into place; greater stability; often doesn’t require a flange.
